What is a virtual visit?
A virtual care visit is simply a doctor-patient medical visit that occurs using your camera-enabled smartphone or computer. 

How do I request a virtual visit?

What does a virtual visit cost?
Helix Virtual Medicine accepts most major insurance plans. We also offer self-pay rates. If you are uncertain about your insurance coverage limitations, we recommend calling your insurance carrier to confirm coverage prior to registering for your visit. 

What will I need for my virtual visit?
You will need to have access to a computer or mobile device that is camera and microphone-enabled. 

Who can receive services through virtual visits?
Virtual visits are available to anyone located in the United States with a nonemergent medical issue and/or illness. 

How do I access my virtual visit appointment?
You will receive an email and text 15 minutes before your appointment with a link to access our virtual waiting room. If you do not receive an email or text within 15 minutes of your appointment, please call 888-944-6369. 

What age groups can be seen?
Helix Virtual Medicine can treat any age group. For anyone younger than age 18, you must have a parent or legal guardian present at the time of your appointment. 

What are the hours of operation?
The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. EST. Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. EST.

Will the provider have access to my records?
If you’ve ever been treated at Helix Virtual Medicine, the provider will be able to access your medical records. If you haven’t been treated at Helix Virtual Medicine before, we will create a chart for you during your visit, which includes a review of your current allergies and medications, and conduct a short medical history. 

In the event of an emergency, can I use Helix Virtual Medicine to address my medical issue?
Helix Virtual Medicine provides treatment for nonemergent illnesses and work-related injuries. If there is an emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. 

What happens if I have technical difficulties?
If you have been disconnected from the call, have trouble connecting, cannot see or hear your provider, or have any other questions or concerns, please call 888-944-6369 to speak with our team. 

Can I use my smartphone or laptop for my virtual visit?
Yes. You can use any electronic device that has an Internet connection, camera, and microphone. 

Can I get prescriptions through this service?
Whether it’s a new prescription or a refill, if the provider determines that a prescription is necessary for your treatment, they will send an electronic prescription to your preferred pharmacy immediately following your visit. 

How will I pay my co-pay?
We accept all major credit cards. Your co-pay will be collected at the time of your appointment. 

Can more than one person in a household receive care?
Yes. Just submit individual requests for each person who needs to be seen. 

What if I need imaging or laboratory services after my virtual visit?
If your doctor recommends imaging or laboratory services, they will provide you with a prescription to make an appointment at your local imaging center or laboratory. Some laboratory services can be mailed to you. 

Is my virtual visit recorded?
No. Virtual care visits have no recording capabilities, so your visit will not be recorded.
